Choosing the Perfect Bathroom Cabinets

Cabinets can make your bathroom stand out. This article offers tips on choosing the right cabinetry for your bathroom.

Bathroom cabinets add visual appeal and storage options to an otherwise stark and small room. Homeowners should select their cabinets based on the size of the room, amount of floor space and overall appearance.

Cabinet Design Options

Bathroom cabinetry should be selected to provide eye appeal as well as maximum storage and convenience. Tall cabinets placed on either side of the sink area offer eye-level storage for bathroom necessities. Electric plugs can be installed inside the cabinets to help hide ugly appliance cords. Extra-deep drawers can offer out-of-site storage for any tall bottles.

Floor space can be added to a narrow room by having cabinets cut shallower than usual and bumping out counter area around the sinks. Pullman-style bathrooms will look more interesting without long, straight lines of cabinets.

If you have a large bathroom, you may want to consider having the countertop installed at two different heights. The lower area can be used a dressing table, while the higher counter includes the sink. Large bathrooms could even have a whole wall of built-in cabinets for storing towels, rugs and other bathroom necessities.
