Windows Frame Options

There are three main types of window frame options and each has benefits and drawbacks. Vinyl, wood and metal frames vary significantly in price, energy efficiently, maintenance requirements, and cleaning needs. Wood framed windows look beautiful and are superior insulators; however they require regular maintenance and are not typically available with a tilt-in cleaning feature. Low maintenance windows, like aluminum windows, are more affordable although they are not considered energy efficient. Vinyl framed windows provide sufficient energy efficiency, have low-maintenance requirements, and are designed for easy cleaning. Regardless of the needs, design requirements may dictate the type of window frame required.
