Video Overview: Laminate Flooring Installation

  1. Easy Installation
    • Laminate flooring is one of the easiest types of flooring to install because it does not require glue, nails or staples. It uses an easy interlocking system where each board snaps to each other.
    • Laminate flooring is considered a floating floor that is available with exact match molding. Available molding options include a T-molding, that fuses two rooms or different flooring products together, corner rounds and stair nosing. These molding options create finished edges for a beautiful finished floor.
  1. Preparation
    • Laminate flooring installation requires virtually no preparation. Since it does not use glue, the floors do not need to be completely smooth - like they would with vinyl or hardwood.
    • Laminate also does not need an acclimation period like hardwood, so it can be installed immediately.
    • The only prep needed for laminate flooring installation is laying down a two-in-one acoustic foam and moisture barrier. This pad reduces noise by foot traffic and keeps moisture from getting into the laminate.
